Brands Hatch Race Report. Me Tony and Mac arrived Friday and set up camp. Jim and Jid arriving later in the evening. Saturday dawned (well the sun was there we just could not see it through the grey cloud!). Saturday was free practice, qualifying and race 1. The track was damp but with a drying line so we kept both bikes on dry tyres and went with that for race 1. Three laps in the race was red flagged (Neil G had come off at paddock hill - as it happened despite repairing most of the damage over the rest of Sat/ Sun the impact had been so great it damaged the head bearing so weekend over for Neil). As the grid was re formed it started to rain....(as Andy T later told me ....on the warm up lap he was behind me and could see my rear tyre sliding round Druidโ€™s so he pulled off and did not start.....oh wise man!). Line up red lights go out and we are off, in the rain most on dry tyres....5 crashes I can name, myself included,at paddock hill. Jim lost the front into druids and has the save of the season, cutting across the grass and apex (Jimโ€™s sneaky shortcut) and rejoining and gettng a brilliant third place finish. i got a lift back in the van of shame.....the bike looking much less pretty. Given the damage to the bike not sure we can fix it for Sunday.....anyway Tony with the patience of a saint mechanical skill and imagination works until dark to get it ready for re scrutineering Sunday morning. Sunday dawns and yes its blue sky....hooray. I scoot off to get the bike and my kit re scruted and me signed off as fit ( fit!?) to race. Sunday morning practice on dry tryres on a dry track, smiles all round but now Jims bike is playing up, missing on one, coil swopped and bike is good to go.....while we are doing that and twenty mins before the race it starts to rain....and hail....mad rush to get wets on, Jim gets out but mechanical issues with my bike mean i dont. Jim gets a great 6 place. Race 3 and its sleeting! we go out, on the warm up lap my bike is still missing so i pull in. Jim gets another 6 place finish in horrific conditions. All in all a mixed weekend, good in parts, some great ridng from Jim in horrible conditions ( weekend weather - high winds up to 50mph, rain, sleet and hail and sunshine - horrific). my bike, despite herculean efforts by Tony to fault find and cure had a misfire all weekend making it difficult and frustrating to ride ๐ŸŒง ... Looks like a proper bit of testing.... Best get the paint work scrubbed up early on save upset later in the season haha all the best mate onwards and upwards

If one of you come off at Brands Hatch it's a crate of beer for me and Tony to drink on the night time.

Sounds like your ambition outweighed your talent there Pete ๐Ÿ˜‰. Hope all goes well at Brands

So with Ted F passing his test in York this morning, we had Sam H achieve his MOD 2 in Knaresborogh. Cracking results on a cracking day. Well done guys.
A happy Ted F, having passed his Mod 2 in the sunshine this morning๐Ÿ˜€
